Playing Catch Up

I've been either sick or busy lately to update the blog as much as I'd like - so I thought I would post a few random pics from the last few weeks, as I have the house to myself (yes!)

Our little cruiser - no more crawling for Mason...it's been a while, but it's still just so cute to see a person this little walking!
Dad throwing Mason up in the window) - yes, it's filthy, I know!
This little boy melts my heart! I can't believe he'll be one in a week!
We had a brief snowfall last week (it melted by the afternoon) so we bundled up and the boys wanted to get pulled up and down our street (5 times). 'Faster Mommy Faster' - I was in my t-shirt by the end! The cutest part was that I told James to make sure Mason didn't fall over and he held on to him the whole time - you can see his arm on his shoulder!
Our neighbours started a snowman, so we finished it off (I didn't have the energy to roll the base by myself after the haul above!)

James went a whole week on the potty and I told him if he filled up his sticker chart we would go on a special date, which we did today! We got sushi and bought new big boy underpants! Not to mention, we stopped by a friends house on the way home and got to go ATV'ing! That might have taken the cake, but he did choose sushi and underpants as his special date! We had a blast!
Great job Bud!
A recent trip to Victoria with the boys - here they are watching Lexi chase her ball when papa G got home from work!
Mason on the ferry slide...a little tentative but big smiles at the bottom! Loved it!
Watching Tika (my brother's dog) play in the snow on a walk & bile ride to the wharf
My happy guys playing Grandma and Papa G on their way to Palm Springs!

Island Adventures

I decided late Saturday night to hop on the first ferry over to Nanaimo with the boys (Geoff was working) and surprise my Mom and family at our Family Reunion at Rathtrevor Beach! It was a mad pack and dash to get there, but we made it unscathed and had a great day at the beach! We stayed in Victoria until Thursday with my parents, as Geoff was working and it's always great to have a visit with them (and get lots of help!)

Here's James napping at the beach (this was my first day ignoring his nap at home and he did well all things considering!)
Eating lunch with Grauntie Karen
Playing bocce with Papa G & Gruncles
Back in Victoria, happy after a long travel day!
Oh you're so funny Grandma!
A nice visit with Uncle Jeff
Cuddles!
Surprise for me when I got home - Geoff painted the house (well half of it anyways, a huge task) - I love the colour (we had picked it out before) and can't wait for it to be done and the new deck is all done too, looks amazing!!)

Three Day Vacation in Brentwood

Papa G and Grandma caught the ferry back to Brentwood Bay with an extra passenger in the car…me,James !!!! I do not do sitting on the ferry. We walked circles inside and out and spent 25 minutes in thecafeteria. I waved to passengers and shouted “ HI “

Papa g showed me how to work the remote control for the sprinkler system, took me crabbing at the beach and let me blow my own bubbles on the deck.

Grandma showed me off to some of her friends...Sue, Karen, Judy and Trudy. We also went to the big aquarium in Sidney and lots of trips to the park. We made smoothies and even had a dinner with Uncle Jeff, Auntie Genn and big dog Tika.

Best part was having my bottle on the beige recliner…oh and stories on the blue (doo) chair!

The ferry trip back was mellow. I watched Barney on DVD as I was all tuckered out !! So was Grandma. She said I could come back anytime. I will Grandma !!

Another Island Adventure!

The boys and I just returned from 5 days in Victoria! We went over because Geoff was working and building a new deck at our place (which looks great so far!) We took a trip to Butchart Gardens, where I spend 8 summers working throughout high school and university. James loved the new carousel ride they had, especially the lion he got to ride (twice!)
We had a great surprise from Uncle Jeff who came down from Nanaimo to visit! James loved watching Tika swim to retrieve her stick in the ocean.  James also became a little obsessed with watering Grandma's flowers, who eventually got drowned with love!  Mason loved playing in his jolly jumper and exersaucer at Grandma's too! He was such a good little guy! We will be back soon!
