First Summer Trip!

It's been two weeks since we went to the island on our first trip of the summer (and taken me that long to blog about it!) We went to Victoria and had a great family bbq at my Aunt & Uncles pool. The following day we headed up to Cowichan Lake to our cabin, where we spent two nights. Unfortuantely, Geoff had to work, so it was just the three of us and my parents, who were celebrating their 40th Wedding Anniversary! Congrats to them! We had a great weekend, followed by a family dinner in Victoria with my brother, Jeff and his wife Genn, who cooked an amazing dinner for us all! The kids loved the whole weekend and James still talks about all the fun we had...especially Papa's boat!

Pool Party!
I love this place!
Throwing rocks in the water...simple fun!
Striding around the campsite...great hills and bumps!
Bathtime!
This is James' fourth year of bathing in the kitchen sink and I think it might be the last! The link is to him in the bath when he was one...always smiling...well maybe not when he was 3 weeks old:)
Letter shaped cherry pancakes...a tradition at the lake!
James' happy place!
Mason's happy place!
Trying to get a picture for the anniversary...kids not too cooperative!
Thanks for a great start to our summer...now we just ned summer weather:) Off to Mable Lake in a week, then back to Cowichan, then back to Vernon!

Brothers on Bikes!

Mason got his first bike today! He's been practicing on some other bikes we had around the house, but I wanted to give him his first very own Strider! I also put some new pneumatic tires on James' bike today and man, do they ever add speed to his bike! He raced Geoff down our street to the stop sign in about 1 minute! The cutest part of it all was him posing up beside Mason's front wheel without prompting and saying 'that's my brother on a bike'! For some of you who know James, he has a hard time admitting Mason is actually part of our family - so this was big and very sweet! This was a pretty exciting day for me...I've thought about this since I started selling bikes in October! I was at the Langley Canada Day celebrations all day on Thursday and Friday this week with a Strider booth and met tons of local families and loved every time a child had a temper tantrum as their parent tried hauling them off a demo bike:) My favorite was an 18 month old girl who I had to pry her fingers off the handle bars one by one as he mom picked her up! Today I sold my 137th bike!

Bub on his KTM Strider! (clothing was not matched on purpose!)
